The Weinstein Company has an awesome opportunity for your readers and followers to see Brenton Thwaites new movie The Giver with special VIP seats at the official premiere in NYC and get to meet members of the cast at the exclusive after-party. We want to make sure all of his fans know about it. Check it out on CrowdRise - The Giver Movie Premiere for Good.

Yup, we shared it in our Twitter account. I wish I lived in New York!

What happened to your website ThwaitesWeb?

Apparently our host (starszz) didn’t renewed the domain and we still don’t know if we lost everything or if we can have it all back… so yeah I’m quite pissed off, this is the second time it happens, we already had to re-make the site once. it sucks :(

So I don't mean offence or anything, but honestly, what do you think of the Giver poster? So small confession... I kinda don't like it. I've been a fan of the book since I was little, and I know the book/movie aren't supposed to be the same. but it seems that they're over-emphasizing the mini-romance between Jonas/Fiona to compete w/h other Sci-fi movies. Nevertheless I know he'll be amazing in it, he definitely looks the part and the editing looks great. So here's to hoping! Still excited!

Yeah, they are definitely highlighting Jonas/Fiona’s relationship. I guess they’re trying to be more realistic according to their ages? I mean in the book they’re too young to fall in love and all but in the movie they’re sixteen so it’d made sense if they fell in love - or just be romantically interested on each other. In my opinion, The Giver (book) is more a “guide” of how an alternate universe would be than an actual story; I mean for example the end in the book is ambiguous. And Divergent, The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner… are kinda influenced by it. So the movie is also another interpretation - closer to the book of course, way closer - but a lot different too :) I’ll just take it as something “based on”and not an exact adaptation and I hope I’ll like it as an independent movie - regardless of the book :)

"Our people made that choice, the choice to go to Sameness. Before my time, before the previous time, back and back and back. We relinquished color when we relinquished sunshine and did away with difference. We gained control of many things. But we had to let go of others." - The Giver
